Apple has a tradition of keeping hardware details like RAM capacity under wraps, but this time, there’s no need to wait for teardowns. A new report from MacRumors, in collaboration with iSWUpdates, reveals that all four models in the freshly announced iPhone 16 lineup come equipped with 8GB of RAM.
While the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max maintain the same 8GB of RAM as their predecessors, the real news lies with the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. These two models now feature a 2GB increase compared to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, making them more powerful than ever before.
This bump in RAM could explain why the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will support Apple’s upcoming Intelligence feature set, which is scheduled to launch in October. The feature, which is likely to integrate advanced machine learning capabilities, is notably absent from the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus – possibly due to their lower RAM capacity.
Mark your calendars: pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series open on Friday, September 13, with official sales starting on Friday, September 20. With enhanced performance and cutting-edge features, the iPhone 16 lineup promises to deliver a significant upgrade for Apple fans.
